Holt og Heiðar products are mostly collected from Icelandic nature. The ingredients are from Icelandic forests and their surroundings. We collect rhubarb, birch sap and leaves, mushrooms, currants and raspberries as well as other things we use for the production. All our products are without pectin, colorants and preservatives. The main emphasis is on the ingredients being Icelandic, However, we use organically certified raw sugar from Kajaorganic in Akranes for the jams and syrups.
Holt og Heiðar ehf has its work facilities in Hallormsstaður. The company was founded in 2009 and we started selling our products in June 2010.
The products we produce are: Birch syrup, raspberry syrup, rhubarb syrup, spruce syrup, rhubarb jam with or without vanilla, raspberry jam, currant jam - larch and pine mushrooms - birch and larch mushroom salt and more.
Owners of Holt og Heiðar are Bergrún Arna Þorsteinsdóttir, a horticulturist and the couple Guðný Vésteinsdóttir and Þórólfur Sigjónsson, a chef who also own and operate Sveitasetrið Hofsstaðir (Country Hotel) in Skagafjörður.
