A fun and informative hike through the arboretum which is the heart of the Hallormstaðir forest. The area has around 90 different species of trees and here you can see the oldest and many of the tallest trees in Iceland. The tallest tree of the arboretum is 24 meters tall. "Neðsti reitur" is a patch of land in the forest which is used every year for the Forest festival which is full of food and music loved by he locals
The hike is 1.5km and family friendly. Little technical skills and stamina needed.
